Student leadership

Students at Patricks Road gradually develop leadership skills and by the upper years, have a number of opportunities to examine effective leaders and learn about leadership.

Students in their second-last year at primary school undertake leadership activities within their classrooms.  If they would like to be presented with a Senior Badge or nominate for one of the positions available, they must complete a leadership card which requires them to write an application based on the school's TARGET values, demonstrate a high standard of behaviour, uniform and effort, show  their willingness to commit to extra responsibilities and have their cards signed off by various staff members.

Towards the end of Term 4, students may opt to nominate for one of the leadership positions, which are:-

School Captains

House Captains

Music Captains - Band, Choir, Strings, Percussion

School Spirit Leaders

Technology Leaders

Environmental Leaders

Languages Leader

STEM Leader

These students then prepare and deliver a speech to their peers, following which, the students vote.  Successful candidates are announced at the final assembly of the year.

Student leaders are presented with their badges in a ceremony early in the year.

School Captains participate in a Cluster Leadership Camp, where they learn new skills and interact with other leaders and staff from neighbouring schools.

Each year, our student leaders organise a project to leave as a legacy for students following.
