Our Advancement Committee consists of a variety of staff who meet weekly and work collaboratively to respond to a diverse range of student needs. Teachers who have concerns about a child's learning seek approval from parents to make a referral to the Advancement Committee. This includes children who may have a learning disability or difficulty to children who may display gifted or talented characteristics. The committee considers referrals from teachers and makes recommendations for program adjustments, ongoing monitoring or intervention programs.
The Advancement Committee includes the Inclusion team, consisting of the HOSES (Head of Special Education Services) and several Special Education teachers, the Guidance Officer, a Deputy Principal, the HOC (Head of Curriculum) and our Speech Therapist.
The committee has access to a variety of specialists, including Speech Therapy, Occupational Therapy, English as a Second Language and Advisory Visiting Teachers.
